Is your workout more work than play?

Play shouldn't stop because you're a grown up. When was the last time you were on monkey bars?

Your health and fitness is serious business….

Or is it?

We want you to take the importance of health, fitness and longevity seriously but we definitely don’t want you to take the process too seriously.

If you really are training to live better, longer (and who isn’t, really?) you need to make sure you're having fun, i.e. playing, as much as you are training. Make sure you are taking time for something new and exciting and fun like maybe a Tough Mudder

CrossFit has turned into a competitive sport and more athletes are focused on doing well in competition. As your coaches, we want to remind you that play is still at the top of CrossFit’s hierarchy of human development

More importantly, play will help you live better and be more creative. As Laura Laverne writes in the Guardian:

"Play isn’t slothful, it’s useful. It is recreation with the emphasis on the last three syllables. Play is indispensable to human progress and good for individuals. A culture that encourages it will enjoy cumulative benefits."

Even better, besides adding years to your life, it will add life to your years. Check out Stephen Jepson.
